2.18.08 - Sign-Ups for the 2008 season have been set. The following dates are slated for all sign-ups.
April 12th - 12:00-4:00 PM @ Miami Valley Centre Mall
April 19th - 12:00-4:00 PM @ Miami Valley Centre Mall
April 26th - 10:00 AM-3:00 PM @ PYFA Equipment Building
It's very important that everyone signs up on the above dates. With the addition of all 4th graders in the contact league this season it's crucial to purchase the necessary equipment. We must also stay on schedule to hold our draft, which is set for June 29th. Another incentive is to sign-up early to avoid the late sign-up charge of $20.
The cheerleaders, which are now ran by PYFA, will be open to anyone in Grades 3rd, 4th, 5th or 6th as of September 1, 2008. The cost of cheerleading will be $60 with a mandatory fundraiser (Brax Spirit Cups) or $100 without fundraiser participation. Any questions may be emailed to Cynthia Swafford.
Equipment Distribution Information...
4.6.08 - Equipment Distribution will take place on the following dates to allow for any necessary changes to be ordered before camp takes place. Coaches will contact each player prior to these dates so you know when your pickup time will be. Players should attend in a t-shirt, shorts and tennis shoes. Please do not attend prior to the start of your team. We will only allow players in the equipment building so we may quickly get everyone taken care of.

2008 Fundraiser Information...
2.17.08 - The 2008 PYFA Fundraiser has been determined. We will be selling Brax Spirit Cups. The Cups feature any NFL Team and select NCAA teams. They are a heavy gauge 18 oz. plastic cup that are dishwasher safe (top shelf recommended). Spirit Cups are sold in a 4 pack, with all 4 cups featuring the same team. We will have samples at signups for those who will be participating in the fundraiser. You can take a look at the cups by visiting their website at www.spiritcups.com. Any questions, comments or concerns may be emailed to jesse@piquafootball.com.

2008 Changes...
There have already been quite a few changes adopted for the 2008 season.
The Flag League will consist of 1st, 2nd and 3rd graders while the Contact League will consist of 4th, 5th and 6th graders. If you have any questions, you can email them to jesse@piquafootball.com. With the 4th Graders moving up to contact, we are forced to change the price of signups to purchase new equipment.
The fundraiser will be Brax Spirit Cups this year. You will be given the option of participating in the fundraiser or going with the buy-out option. The Flag league will be $40 with a $40 buy-out option or participation in the fundraiser. The Contact league will be $60 with a $40 buy-out option or participation in the fundraiser. Cheerleading will be $60 with a $40 buy-out option or participation in the fundraiser. As always, any questions/comments/concerns may be emailed to us at jesse@piquafootball.com.
Schedule/League Changes...
In addition to the changes listed above, we've adopted a new style for the 2008 and 2009 season. With this new style, we've eliminated the PYFA All-Star game but have added other games to make up for the loss.
The new system will have the following division alignments (based on a blind draw at the January 6th 2008 meeting)...
Contact League
Red Division Blue Division
Falcons Eagles
Giants 49ers
Browns Cowboys
Flag League
Red Division Blue Division
Titans Jaguars
Packers Patriots
Cardinals Colts
Each team will play the other two teams in their division twice in the regular season while they will play teams from the opposing division once in the regular season.
Each division winner will receive a bye in the first round of the playoffs. The #2 seed in each division will play the #3 seed from the opposing division.
Weight Limitations...
Article VII - Section 1 (PYFA By-Laws)...
Effective with the playing season of 2007, NO PLAYER WEIGHING MORE THAN 118 LBS. with game pants, including pant pads, and cleats will be permitted to advance the ball.
Time of weigh-in is 12:00 PM every Sunday and 45 minutes prior to Monday night games. If weigh-in is missed, the player forfeits his chance to run that week.
Players will only have one weigh-in per week with no exceptions to the times listed above. Players that qualify to weigh-in will be determined by head coach and president.
Announcer & Scoreboard Help Needed...
We're still looking for two announcers and two people to run the scoreboards during the games. Any high school seniors that need their credit hours, we can help you out! If we don't end up with another announcer that is willing to do it each week, unfortunately we won't have an announcer. If you would like to volunteer please contact league president Brandon Hartzell at 773-3695.
If someone is willing to keep details of each game for the website, it'd be much appreciated.
PYFA would like to thank the sponsors who help keep the league as one of the finest in the area.
